Manitoba Moose Post-Game Report - Manitoba vs. Texas - February 10

Goals:

- Scott Kosmachuk scores just 1:09 into the game off a cross crease pass from Nic Petan.

- John Albert finds Nic Petan on a cross-ice pass who wrists it top corner past Maxime Lagace 9:25 into the first period.

- Derek Hulak brings the puck from the back of the net and wraps it around to beat Jussi Olkinuora at 12:39 of the first period.

- Brenden Kichton jumps up in the offensive zone where he receives a pass from JC Lipon and goes to the net, he gets his own rebound and scores 5:32 into the second period.

- A rebound comes out to Esa Lindell who fires it past Olkinuora at 8:59 of the second period.

- Jason Dickinson wacks at a loose puck three times during a scramble in front of the Moose net and beat Olkinuora at 17:19 of the second period.

- Ludwig Bystrom moves to the middle of the Moose zone and wrists one past Okinuora on his glove side at 2:19 of the third period. Moose goaltender Jussi Olkinuora is replaced by Eric Comrie.

- Julius Honka jumps up in the play and drives the Moose net, he uses a backhand deke to score past Comrie at 6:04 of the third.

- Brett Ritchie wraps the puck around the Moose net where teammate Curtis McKenzie jams at the puck and it deflects up and over Comrie at 8:16 of the third.

- Josh Morrissey fires it through a crowd in front scoring past Lagace at 9:58 of the third period.

- From behind the net, Nic Petan throws the puck out front where it deflects off the Stars defenceman at 11:56 of the third.

- Julian Melchiori wrists one from the blue line which gets through a crowd in front of the Texas net at 17:58 of the third period.

- In the shootout the Stars had goals from Travis Morin and Jason Dickinson, while the lone Moose goal was scored by Austen Brassard.

Highlights/Notes:

- Texas erased a 3-1 deficit by scoring five consecutive goals. Manitoba then erased the 6-3 deficit by scoring three goals during a seven minute span in the third period.

- Nic Petan matched a career high with three points (2G, 1A). He has 11 points (5G, 6A) in his last nine games. He is now tied for second on the Moose in scoring with seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points.

- Patrice Cormier recorded an assist for the third consecutive game and now has four assists in his last three games.

- John Albert extended his point streak to four games with an assist. In his last four games he has two goals and two assists.

- Brenden Kichton (1G, 1A), Thomas Raffl (0G, 2A), Nic Petan (2G, 1A), JC Lipon (0G, 2A) all had multi-point games.

- Jussi Olkinuora made his third star of the season for the Moose. He allowed four goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Eric Comrie in the third period and allowed two goals on 13 shots the rest of the way. Comrie leads the AHL in saves with 1,020 and is second in minutes with 2,012.

- Texas forward Jason Dickinson was the first star in both games of this two-game series. He scored two goals on Tuesday and had a goal and two assists in the rematch.

- The Moose fell to 0-5 this season in shootouts. Austen Brassard's shootout goal was Manitoba's first this season.

- The Moose trail the Stars in the season series 0-1-0-1. Manitoba will travel to Texas for the final two games of the season series on Mar. 5 & Apr. 16.

The Manitoba Moose will host the Chicago Wolves for a pair of games this weekend, the first on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at the MTS Centre.
