Richmond RiverDogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- With the Rockford IceHogs 4-2 win over the Missouri River Otters Sunday, the club took over the top spot in the United Hockey League. The win extended the Hogs club record and UHL season high win streak to 11 games and extended the IceHogs club record road win streak to six.

Rockford had four different goal scorers in the contest. Rookie center Steve Yetman began the scoring for Rockford just 1:45 into the game. Yetman fired in a feed from winger Greg Barber past Missouri goalie Brendan Cuthbert. Later in the opening frame, center Olivier Proulx mimicked Yetman's maker at 13:53 from nearly the same spot on the ice, hooking up with center Preston Mizzi.

The two clubs traded goals the rest of the way. Rockford extender their lead to 3-0 with a power-play goal by rookie winger Robin Big Snake at 11:50 of the second period. Missouri cut the lead down to 3-1 with a goal from defenseman Tim O'Connell 16:30 into the second.

In the final period, rookie defenseman Ryan Carrigan tallied his second goal of the season, blasting home a power-play goal at 12:29. The Otters attempted another comeback when winger Mark Odut beat Hogs goalie Michel Robinson on a breakaway at 16:26 to make the score 4-2. That was it for the Otters, however, and Rockford skated away with the win.

Robinson finished the game with 22 saves and extended his personal unbeaten streak to 12 games (11-0-1). The Hogs went 2-for-6 on the power play while holding Missouri to 0-for-3. Rockford also set a club mark for most victories in a season against a single opponent, as the Hogs are now 10-0-0 against the River Otters.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Feb. 15 vs. Fort Wayne Komets. The game is slated to start at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Komets renew their divisional rivalry for the third time this season at the MetroCentre. Wednesday night's game is also the final FlyAway Wednesday game of the year brought to you by the Chicago/Rockford Airport and Allegiant Air.
