Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs couldn't muster enough offense to pick up the win, but did get a shootout point in a 2-1 shootout loss against the Missouri River Otters in front of 2,658 at the Rockford MetroCentre Sunday. The fourth game is five days and the second contest in a home-and-home series. Goalies Michel Robinson for Rockford and Kevin Reiter for Missouri battled all game, but the Otters out scored Rockford 2-1 in the extra session to pick up the two points.

After a scoreless first period, the River Otters picked up their only regulation goal in the second frame. After Justin Quenneville won a face-off back to defenseman Mat Snesrud, Chris Bell flipped in a rebound loose in front of Robinson at 11:25 for the 1-0 lead.

The IceHogs responded with a short-handed goal in the third period. Winger J.F. Dufour forced a puck into the neutral zone that center J.C. Ruid picked up and skated in on a breakaway. Ruid deeked Reiter and slipped in his 21 marker of the season at 6:35 of the final frame.

In the shootout, The Otters picked up goals from Cole Bassett in the first round and Charlie Blyth in the fifth round. Vince Malts had Rockford's only tally in the extra session in round three.
