Rockets Announce Gianluca Pascucci as Vipers GM

MCALLEN, Texas - The Houston Rockets and NBA Development League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers today announced that Gianluca Pascucci has been named General Manager of the Vipers. Pascucci previously spent the 2012-13 season as the Assistant General Manager of Rio Grande Valley.

Currently, Pascucci is in his second stay with the Houston Rockets, returning as Director of Player Personnel for the 2012-13 season. His previous stint with Houston was as an international scout for six seasons (2002-08). Pascucci was responsible for scouting assignments of international players overseas, as well as assisting in coordination of all Rockets staff travel during overseas scouting trips.

Pascucci rejoins the Rockets after spending the previous four years with Olimpia Milano, with his most recent position as the team's General Manager and CEO. He also possesses over 12 years of international coaching experience, including as an assistant coach with Scavolini Pesaro's senior team in the Italian A-1 League and Euroleague. Along with his coaching background, Pascucci spent several years scouting for Scavolini Pesaro.

Born in Pesaro, Italy, Pascucci studied at the University of Ancona.

The defending NBA Development League Champion RGV Vipers will open the 2013-14 season on the road at Los Angeles on Nov. 23, followed by a road game at Bakersfield on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
