New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT â The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club and the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross are teaming up next Sunday and Monday to again collaborate on a Memorial Day Weekend Holiday Blood Drive. Both central Connecticut organizations are working hard to ensure that this year's event at New Britain Stadium will be as successful as last year's joint effort - when their partnership helped ease the State's critically low blood supply at the start of the busy Summer vacation season.
The Rock Cats have enthusiastically agreed to participate in this special Memorial Day Weekend Holiday Blood Drive and will offer an incentive to all participating donors who come to New Britain Stadium between 10: 00 AM and 2:00 PM on Sunday and Monday. Each presenting donor will receive a ticket voucher valid for a free entry into any regular-season Rock Cats 2005 home game.
New Britain's President and General Manager, William F. Dowling, wholeheartedly endorsed the idea of the Rock Cats uniting with the American Red Cross' Central Connecticut Chapter for this purpose. "We are always delighted to partner with highly worthy community organizations that work to enhance the quality of life for our friends and neighbors in Connecticut. The Rock Cats are honored to be involved in something so obviously important to every family."
Individuals who are 17 years of age or older, in generally good health and weighing 110 pounds or more, are strongly encouraged to come to New Britain Stadium on Sunday, May 29th and Monday, May 30th between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to donate blood.
