Rochester Rhinos Take on Bethlehem Steel FC for the First Time

Rochester, NY - The Rochester Rhinos (4-2-2) will face Bethlehem Steel FC (3-3-3) for the first time in franchise history. Rochester and Bethlehem are both coming off losses from last week, and looking to turn things around. The Rhinos fell to Orlando City B, 2-1. While Steel FC lost to Harrisburg City Islanders 3-1, a team the Rhinos beat earlier in the season 2-1.

The Rhinos will be returning home this weekend to defend their four game undefeated streak at Rochester Rhinos Stadium. This is Bethlehem's second road game in a row, they return home for one game, then begin a five game road trip.

At this point in the season, the teams share similar records and stats, hinting at an exciting game this Saturday. Rochester has scored 9 goals this season and an overall 5 assists. Bethlehem trails not far behind with 8 goals so far this season and 4 assists. Rochester has been an overall defensive powerhouse, but has seen offensive improvements as the season has progressed showing that the team is still evolving.

Christian Volesky remains the leading goal scorer this season with three goals in the regular season. Players to watch for Bethlehem FC include Derrick Jones, Fabian Herbers, and Eric Ayuk who are leading the team with two goals each this season.

Kickoff between Rochester and Bethlehem is scheduled for Saturday, May 28 at 6:05 p.m. at Rochester Rhinos Stadium. Saturday is also Roc Heroes night at the stadium, the Rhinos will be honoring all local heroes who have dedicated themselves to the community prior to the start of the game.
