ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Rochester Red Wings fell to their Thruway rival to the west, the Buffalo Bisons, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon, 11-4...2B DARREN BAKER, 3B JAKE ALU, LF TRAVIS BLANKENHORN, and RF NOMAR MAZARA each collected a pair of hits in the loss...the bullpen came out early in relief of RHP WILY PERALTA, working the remaining 6.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) while striking out seven...Rochester stays on the road this week, sending out RHP PAOLO ESPINO in the series opener against the Toledo Mud Hens.

IT'S (NOT) LONELY AT THE TOP:Four Wings hitters recorded multiple hits on Sunday afternoon...2B DARREN BAKER, 3B JAKE ALU, LF TRAVIS BLANKENHORN, and RF NOMAR MAZARA each collected two hits in the game, accounting for eight of the team's 10 hits...

Three of the four multi-hit performances came from the top three spots in the Rochester lineup, with each recording at least one RBI (Alu with two, Baker and Blankenhorn with one each).

In the first three spots in the lineup, Rochester batters have 138 combined hits this season, while Toledo's top three spots have combined for 124 hits this season.

HAMMER TIME: RF NOMAR MAZARA took the exit-velo crown on Sunday, smashing a 108.9 MPH single through the left side of the infield...this marked the hardest hit ball of the game and Mazara's second-hardest hit ball of the season.

HOLD ON, WE'RE GOING HOME: Rochester stranded nine runners on base in Sunday's loss, finishing 4-for-15 with runners in scoring position...this is the third consecutive game the Wings have left nine or more runners on base...Rochester left 54 runners on base during its series with Buffalo, fourth-most in the International League during that span...

The Wings hit .264 (19-for-72) with runners in scoring position in the Thruway series against the Bisons.

Rochester has left the fourth-most runners on base in the IL this season (313).

RAKE ALU:3B JAKE ALU went 2-for-5 at the plate on Sunday, recording a double and a pair of RBI...this marked the lefty's second consecutive game with two RBI and his fourth multi-RBI game with Rochester this season...

Alu ranks fifth on the team with 14 RBI (23 games played), six behind leader LF TRAVIS BLANKENHORN despite playing14 less games.

OK, WELL...:Rochester batters struck out 13 times in Sunday's loss, the most strikeouts in a game since Wednesday ‚¬â€¹ against the Bisons (16)...Rochester struck out 58 times in the series against Buffalo, most in a single series and fourth most in the International League over that span...

The Wings still have the fourth-fewest strikeouts (358) in the IL.

E-Z PASS: Rochester pitchers have issued 53 free passes in their last seven contests, dating back to 5/14, the most in the International League over that span...Wings pitchers allowed at least seven free passes in each game against Buffalo, with a series-high eight walks issued in each of the first three games...

The Wings' pitching staff ranks 19th in the IL with 2022 walks this season.

BULLY-PEN: Rochester's bullpen continued its success against Buffalo, working 6.2 innings and allowing three runs on eight hits in the loss, after Wings starting pitcher RHP WILY PERALTA allowed eight earned over 1.1 innings of work...the Wings bullpen allowed just eight earned runs (2.14 ERA) in the six-game series dating back to 5/16, versus 33 (17.13 ERA) from starting pitchers...

Wings relievers have posted a 2.73 ERA (19 ER/62.2 IP) in 12 games against Buffalo this season, compared to an 11.48 ERA (54 ER/42.1 IP) from starting pitchers.
