Rockford IceHogs News Release

Kansas City, Mo. - Goaltender Michel Robinson picked up his 27 win the 2004-05 season, breaking an IceHogs record for most wins in a season, as the Hogs topped the Kansas City Outlaws 4-2 at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Robinson turned away 26 shots to earn the win.

Kansas City didn't waste any time getting on the board however, to take the early lead. Just 44 seconds in, winger Joe Seroski fired home his 30 goal of the season for the 1-0 lead. Rockford would get the goal back however, when winger Eric Labelle tipped in a Miguel Lafleche shot at 3:10. The IceHogs then grabbed the lead heading into the intermission after center Alex Kim blasted home a power play goal past goalie Maxime Gingras at 10:27.

The Hogs picked up the only goal of the second period. While skating short-handed, Lafleche broke through the Outlaws defense and set-up winger Jason Ralph at 14:20 for his second shortie of the season.

The Outlaws cut their deficit to one when center Mark Lee picked up a missed played puck from Robinson and knocked it in at 1:08 of the third period, making the score 3-2. After nearly nine minutes of non-stop hockey with out a whistle, the IceHogs grabbed their two goal lead back when Chris Gobert picked a pass off and beat Gingras for a 4-2 lead at 18:37.

The Hogs peppered Gingras with 33 shots and finished the night 1-for-3 on the power play. Rockford only had three penalties for six minutes.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, March 9 vs. Quad City Mallards. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Mallards return to the MetroCentre on another PigOut Wednesday with the Hogs and the "X", 104.9 FM.
