Robinson Comes Through Again

Lancaster Stormers News Release
Trayvon Robinson continued his knack for the late inning heroics on Tuesday evening as his bloop single in the top of the tenth inning drove home the winning run as the Barnstormers slipped past the Long Island Ducks, 4-3, in the middle game of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.
The win kept the Barnstormers 2 1/2 games ahead of the Sugar Land Skeeters in the Freedom Division chase.
With two outs in the 10th, Ryan Casteel kept the inning alive with a line drive single into right center. Joey Terdoslavich, following a long at bat against Matt Marsh (0-1), yanked a single into right that chased Casteel to second. Robinson lofted a pop fly into right center, just beyond the grasp of second baseman Jordany Valdespin and in front of the charging Travis Snider to score the game winner.
Lancaster had sent the game to extra innings with a rally built on Darian Sandford's speed in the eighth. Vladimir Frias was hit by a pitch leading off and went to second as Sandford beat out a bunt to put runners at first and second. Rico Noel's fouled bunt was flagged by catcher Ramon Cabrera for the first out. Blake Gailen walked to load the bases. Casteel launched a deep fly down the right field line that Snider gloved. All runners tagged, and Snider's throw was drawn to second. Sandford never slowed down and beat the relay throw home for the tying run.
Gailen homered in the first inning for Lancaster's first run. The Ducks struck for two in the third, keyed by Emilio Bonifacio's double smashed inside the first base bag. Lew Ford's bloop hit to left put the Ducks in the lead.
The third run off Lancaster starter Tommy Shirley came in the sixth. Two singles around a walk loaded the bases, and Dan Lyons got the third run across with a sacrifice fly.
Stephen Johnson (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win. Matt Reynolds survived a long foul ball by Cody Puckett in the bottom of the tenth to record a 1-2-3 inning and his ninth save.
The series finale comes up on Wednesday evening. Brooks Hall (2-2) will make the start for Lancaster against Long Island lefty Jake Fisher (2-1). Fans may tune into the Barnstormers YouTube Channel, beginning at 6:15.
NOTES: Lancaster pitchers were forced to bat in the game as Anderson De La Rosa left with an injury in the bottom of the second, and Casteel vacated the DH spot to catch...Shirley, who never had batted professionally, singled and walked...Johnson struck out in his one at bat...Casteel has hit safely in 16 of 18...Frias was hit by a pitch for the seventh time this year...Lancaster is activating hitting coach Josh Bell for the Wednesday game.
