June 13, 2006 - Jeriome Robertson pitched six shutout innings, lifting the Tides to a 1-0 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox Tuesday night.

Robertson (1-4) allowed just four singles and two walks in the contest, and did not allow a batter to reach third base in the game. The 29-year-old southpaw struck out three, as the Tides improved to 4-1 against the Pawsox this year.

Norfolk plated the only run of the contest in the third inning off of Pawsox starter Matt Ginter (3-8). Joe Hietpas and Julio Ramirez led off the frame with back-to-back singles, and Anderson Hernandez followed with a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. Jeff Keppinger then grounded a slow roller to second base, plating Hietpas and giving the Tides the early lead.

Ginter pitched very well in defeat, allowing four hits and three walks in 7.0 innings, but the former Tide did not receive any run support from the Pawsox offense. Pawtucket has plated just 16 runs in Ginter's last nine starts, going 2-7 over that stretch.

Tim LaVigne and Juan Perez each pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Robertson, and Royce Ring worked a perfect ninth inning to complete the shutout. Ring has now recorded 15 consecutive scoreless outings, hurling 18.0 shutout innings over that span.

The Tides and Pawtucket are scheduled to square off again Wednesday night. Right-hander Jose Lima (4-4, 4.29) is scheduled to take the hill for Norfolk, with first pitch from Harbor Park slated for 7:15 p.m..
