Durham Bulls News Release
Durham, NC - Back-to-back run scoring innings in the seventh and eighth combined with solid pitching gave the Bulls a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Durham climbed back to the .500 mark with its second straight win.
Trailing 2-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bulls tied the game when B.J. Upton laced a double to left field scoring Joey Gathright. One inning later, Kevin Witt scored the go-ahead run on an errant throw from Bisons third baseman Andy Marte. The Bulls played an errorless game for the second straight night, both wins.
RHP Chad Orvella (2-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings in relief of starter Chris Seddon who went six innings allowing only two runs on six hits. LHP Jon Switzer pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up his second save of the season.
The Bulls and Bisons meet again on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Tickets are available at www.durhambulls.com or by phone at (919) 956-BULL.
