Cavalry FC News Release
Calgary, AB - Robert Boskovic (CAN) will be joining Cavalry FC for the 2020 season. The 21 year-old, Mississauga native, comes to the team on a season-long loan from Toronto FC.
Boskovic played university soccer for the Ryerson Rams and was awarded the Lou Bilek Award as U SPORTS Rookie of the Year, in 2016. In 2017 Boskovic signed professionally with Toronto FC II following successful call ups from the Toronto FC Academy. He played over 50 professional games with Toronto FC II (TFC II) prior to being loaned to the Ottawa Fury in the USL Championship last season.
Boskovic has also been selected as part of Canada's preliminary Olympic squad.
"Robert is a great defensive addition to our group, adding cover and competition to the left side of our defence. What excites me is that he is another young Canadian with a big upside. At only 21 years old, he has already banked 60+ professional appearances and still has a massive ceiling to grow further as a player, which we hope our club is the perfect environment for." - Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Head Coach & General Manager)
"It definitely means a lot to me signing with Cavalry FC. They showed last year just how great they can be and hopefully I can help add to that success and bring joy to the fans at Spruce Meadows." - Robert Boskovic on signing with Cavalry FC.
The fans should expect to see a technical center back that brings a big and physical presence to the pitch. Hopefully adding another weapon to the set piece arsenal.
