Roanoke's Hot Streak Continues

ROANOKE, Va., Dec. 7– The Roanoke Dazzle shot 51.9 percent from the field, winning their second straight game Saturday, defeating the North Charleston Lowgators 94-89. Terrence Shannon led all scorers with 28 points to go along with 9 rebounds.

The Dazzle outscored the Lowgators 32-15 in the third quarter. Shannon scored 13 of his 28 in the third giving the Dazzle a 71-53 lead going into the final stanza.

Shannon was joined by three other Dazzle players in double figures. Mikki Moore scored 17 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Jamal Robinson contributed 15 points and Cory Alexander had 10, eight coming from the free throw line.

North Charleston managed to get five players in double digits, led by Corey Benjamin's 18. Tierre Brown scored 17, Ime Udoka had 16, Sedric Webber had 12 and Damone Brown contributed 11. Lowgator Thaddeos Delany had a game high 10 rebounds.

Both teams were plagued by fouls, with four players fouling out. Mikki Moore was the only Dazzle player to hit the bench. TJ McKenzie, Damone Brown and Larry Reid all fouled out for North Charleston.

Roanoke shot 69.6 percent, 39-59, from the charity stripe. North Charleston went 28-36 for 77.8 percent. Roanoke shot 27-52 from the field. North Charleston Shot 39.7 percent, 29-73, from the field.

New Dazzle player Richie Dalmau had a season high 8 points in his Roanoke debut. Cory Alexander continued to distribute the ball effectively, having 7 assists after his 9 assist night Tuesday against Asheville.

The Dazzle's next game is Saturday, December 14, at the Roanoke Civic Center. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
