Eric Chenowith recorded his first double-double of the season as Huntsville kept a toe-hold on first place in the National Basketball Development League standings with an 87-73 victory over Asheville Friday at the Von Brian Center in Huntsville. The Kansas product scored 17 points and collected 10 rebounds.

WILLIAMS KEEPS FLIGHT ON TOP

Brandon Williams scored 28 points in the Huntsville victory, 15 in the second half. Williams connected on 9-of-18 field goal attempts.

MINUS BRAIDS, ABNEY DROPS 21

Just two games after cutting his braided hair and sporting a closer-cropped look, Asheville's Larry Abney dropped 21 points on Huntsville in a losing cause Friday at the Von Braun Center. The Fresno State flash scored 15 of his 21 points in the first quarter and was 8-of-12 from the floor for the game.

LEADERS TOUR

Asheville remains on its tour of facing the NBDL leaders by visiting Mobile at the Mardi Gras Dome Sunday. Huntsville and Mobile remain deadlocked for first place in the NBDL standings. Huntsville is 6-3 (.667) following the win over the Altitude on Friday. The Revelers are 4-2 (also .667) as they await the league's November Player of the Month Jeff Trepagnier and his Altitude teammates.

SATURDAY'S MENU

Six of the eight NBDL teams are in action Saturday. The Columbus Riverdragons and Greenville Groove meet in a 2 p.m. matinee at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, followed by North Charleston at Roanoke (7 p.m.) and Huntsville at Fayetteville (7:30 p.m.).
