Huntsville Flight News Release

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (Dec. 6) – Fayetteville held the Huntsville Flight to a club-low point total en route to a 74-51 NBDL victory at the Crown Coliseum Saturday night.

The Flight (6-4) could not overcome a poor shooting night and the Patriots had five players score in double figures as Huntsville dropped its third straight road contest.

Jeff Capel led the way for the Patriots (4-6) with 18 points. Devin Brown added 12 points for the home squad, while Jeff Aubrey and Bryan Lucas added 11 each and Terrell McIntyre contributed 10.

Eric Chenowith paced the Flight with 12 points and Bakari Hendrix added 11 as the Flight converted just 21-of-71 shots on the night for 29.6 percent. Brandon Williams, who scored 26 on Friday night and the team's top scoring threat heading into the game, was limited to just one point.

The Flight scored 10 points less than their previous lowest point total as they were limited to just 61 points on Feb. 14 last season at Roanoke.

The game remained close for a half as the Flight trailed just 32-29 at the intermission. Then the Patriots exploded for a 26-14 third quarter and then doubled Huntsville's point total in the final 10 minutes 16-8 to put the game out of reach.

While the Flight had their troubles from the floor, the Patriots shot a modest 43.3 percent, converting 29-of-67 shots, along with 14-of-16 rebounds (87.5 percent).

Huntsville did take an early lead as Hendrix scored eight points in the opening quarter to give the Flight a lead after the opening quarter.

The Flight now returns home to face the hottest team in the league, the Greenville Groove, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Von Braun Center. The Groove won for the sixth straight time today in a 89-80 win over Columbus to improve to 6-4.
