
Groove Improves Winning Streak To Six Games

Greenville, SC â Greg Jones led the Groove with 17 points in their 89 to 80 victory over the Columbus Riverdragons on Saturday, November 7th at the BI-LO Center. Greenville shot 51 percent from the field in their sixth consecutive win. The Groove advances to 6-4, while Columbus falls to 4-4.
Brandon Kurtz was named the Greenville Groove Player-of-the-Game. He had 10 points and 10 rebounds, his second NBDL career double-double.
Greenville had five players with double figure games, the tenth consecutive game with at least three players in double digits. Greg Jones (17 points), Billy Thomas (14 points), Greg Gray (13 points), Donald Hand (11 points), and Brandon Kurtz (10 points) all had double scoring games.
Saul Smith, who completed 6 of 14 from the field and had 17 points, led the Riverdragons. Tang Hamilton had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Columbus came alive in the fourth quarter and brought the Riverdragons within eight points. Veterans Billy Thomas and Donald Hand returned to the game and closed the victory for Greenville.
Greenville shot 51 percent (35-69) from the field, 36 (4-11) percent from the three-point arc, and 65 percent (15-23) from the line. Columbus shot 39 percent, going 30 of 77, 29 percent (6-21) from the three-point line, and 74 percent (14-19) from the line.
