December 1, 2005 - NBA G League (G League)
Roanoke Dazzle News Release
Roanoke, Va., December 1 - The Roanoke Dazzle along with the Roanoke Parks and Recreation with the help of the Roanoke Civic Center Commission are hosting a "Roanoke Youth Sports Day" game on Saturday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. when the Dazzle host the Arkansas Rimrockers at the Roanoke Civic Center.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help the Roanoke Parks and Recreation and the youth of Roanoke" said Dazzle Team President Dennis Robarge. "Through the efforts of many, including the members and leadership of the Roanoke Parks and Recreation and the Roanoke Civic Center Commission, we will be able to provide not only great entertainment but also help youth sports clubs in Roanoke raise valuable funds."
Jim Farmer of the Roanoke Parks and Recreation added "Last year the Roanoke Parks and Recreation reached over 4000 boys and girls. The funds raised by the sale of these vouchers will help provide much needed uniforms and equipment for the youth sports programs in Roanoke."
Leading up to the "Roanoke Youth Sports Day", the Roanoke Parks and Recreation will be selling discount vouchers which are redeemable for a ticket to the game on the 17th. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these vouchers benefits youth sports programs in Roanoke.
For this game, the Roanoke Civic Center Commission has agreed to waive the normal facility fee on these vouchers. This foresight by the Commission allows the Roanoke Parks and Recreation and Dazzle to provide these discount vouchers at a cost of just $5. These vouchers are redeemable at the Roanoke Civic Center Box Office for a ticket into the "Roanoke Youth Sports Day" game at no further cost and provide a savings of half off the normal $10 face value of these tickets.
Vouchers are available for purchase until Wednesday, December 14th by calling the Roanoke Parks and Recreation at 853-2366, by calling your local Roanoke Rec. Club President or by stopping by one of the following participating businesses.
