Roadrunners to Partner with KVOA for Athlete of the Week

TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Roadrunners, American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, are proud to partner with KVOA News 4 Tucson for the "Tucson Roadrunners Player of the Week".

The award, selected by KVOA News 4 Tucson Sports, will be presented to a local high school athlete on a weekly basis, recognizing their outstanding performances.

"Being able to be a part of rewarding a young Tucson-area athlete is the exact type of involvement we want to be synonymous with the Roadrunners name," Roadrunners President Bob Hoffman said. "We are thankful to KVOA for allowing us to further assist in supporting our community."

Athletes will be recognized on KVOA News 4 Tucson telecasts by Sports Director Paul Cicala each Tuesday at 6 p.m., as well as honored at a Roadrunners home game and invited on the game's radio broadcast with Adrian Denny, voice of the Roadrunners.

"This is the next, natural step in our partnership with the Tucson Roadrunners, said Bill Shaw, President & General Manager of KVOA-TV. "We partner on a number of annual community events already and having them as a sponsor of this prestigious award is evidence of their commitment to our community."

Tickets for the Roadrunners Opening Night on Saturday, October 6 against the San Diego Gulls at Tucson Arena are on sale now. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. and tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com or by visiting the Tucson Convention Center box office.
