Roadrunners Take Three Game Lead In Standings With Win

The Edinburg Roadrunners posted six runs off starter Ryan Foss in the first inning en route to a 11-7 win over the Coastal Bend Thunder Monday night at Fairgrounds Field.

Eric Montoya got the win on the mound pitching five innings, giving up four runs on eight hits, while striking out seven.

Offensively, Carlos Hereaud and Alexis Hernandez each had two hits and two RBI's in the contest to lead the Roadrunners to the win.

Edinburg and Coastal Bend will play tomorrow at Fairgrounds Field in the second of a four game series. Mike Reeves (1-1) will be facing a pitcher to be announced with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.

The Roadrunners are members of United League Baseball, an independent league of six professional baseball teams located in Texas that include Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Laredo, Rio Grande Valley and San Angelo.
