Roadrunners Drop Second Straight To Dillas

EDINBURG, Texas--- The Edinburg Roadrunners were defeated 7-1 at the hands of the Amarillo Dillas Friday night at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Stephen Douglas got the scoring started in the top of the fourth with a three-run home run off of Edinburg starter Mike Reeves (0-1) giving the Dillas a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Osiel Flores hit an RBI single that scored Robert Matlock from second making it 3-1 Amarillo.

The Dillas (5-4) extended their lead to 4-1 in the top of the sixth inning after a throwing error allowed Alberto Cruz to score from third.

Amarillo scored single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth extending their lead 7-1.

Dane Little pitched two scoreless innings to close the ballgame giving the Dillas the 7-1 win.

The Roadrunners (6-3) and Dillas will play the final game of their four-game series Saturday night at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Wardell Starling (1-0) is expected to pitch for the Roadrunners with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
