Roadrunners Blank Bulldogs, Home Winning Streak Comes to an End

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs fell to their divisional rival the Toronto Roadrunners 2-0 this afternoon at Copps Coliseum. With the loss, the Bulldogs ended a consecutive streak of nine wins at home. The Hamilton Bulldogs record now stands at 16-9-1-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Tony Salmelainen opened the scoring for the Roadrunners, netting his fifth, a power play goal with assists going to Jamie Wright and Dan Tessier.

Jani Rita picked up an insurance marker in the third period, his seventh. Helpers went to Chad Hinz and Nate DiCasmirro.

Bulldogs backstopper Eric Fichaud turned aside 25 Roadrunners shots in the loss. Roadrunners netminder Stephen Valliquette stopped 20 Bulldog shots in picking up his third win of the season. Fichaud's record now stands at 10-7-0, while Valiquette improves his record to 3-5-1.

On special teams, the Bulldogs were 0 for 6 on the powerplay while preventing 6 of 7 Roadrunner powerplays.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next home action will take place Friday, December 12th as the Bulldogs will play host to the Cleveland Barons at Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:00pm.
