San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas--- San Angelo, Texas---The Colts head out on the road for the first time this season and after dropping three of four at home looked to get a win under their belt but it was not meant to be. Starting pitching once again plagued San Angelo in this one.
Edinburg scored a run in the first and never looked back, also getting three in the third, two on a single by Robert Matlock and one on an RBI single by Gabe Memmert, who was with the Laredo Broncos last season, and it was 4-0 Edinburg. With two more in the eighth and one in the sixth they built a 7-1 lead, which would be the final.
The lone Colts run came from an unlikely source, as Mark Ramos hit an opposite field solo shot. Colts righty Steve MacFarland dueled with Scott Wingo through the first three, but did not make it out of the fourth. The Colts bullpen was once again very good, but the starting pitching has been the problem early on.
On Monday, San Angelo plays game two of this four game series, when Edinburg sends out right-hander Ryan Harris (0-1, 18.00), to take on against the Colts All-Time Win King righty Brian Henschel (0-1, 14.71). Follow the action on FM 101.9 "The Fire", or online at kwfrfm.com.
