Evansville, IN: The Road Warriors continue to roll on Tuesday as they powered over the Evansville IceMen in a 4-2 victory.

A sellout crowd was in attendance as Education Day brought in 9,381 fans to the Ford Center. Mike Marcou opened the scoring just 2:58 into the game. The powerplay goal was the defenseman's first of his professional career with assists going to Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Sebastien Piche. Just 19 seconds later, Sean Berkstresser jammed in his fifth goal of the season to give the Road Warriors an early 2-0 lead. The period continued to stay tight and physical. At the 7 minute marker Francis Verreault dropped the gloves with Mark Cody. Cody initially was called on an interference penalty which began the scrum, then received a game misconduct for not strapping his jersey to his equipment. With 1:19 left in the period, Nathan Moon got the scoring started for Evansville, with his third goal of the season.

The intensity continued into the second. At 8:16 into the period, Kenndal McArdle fired a shot past Evansville goalie Rob Madore, extended his goal streak to four games and giving the Road Warriors the 3-1 lead. Shortly after the goal, tempers would get the best of Piche and Trent Vogelhuber. The two were whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct but were not able to drop the gloves as the referees got between the two preventing the fight. The period ended with an opportunity for the IceMen as they crashed the net but were not able to convert. Road Warriors goalie Stajcer took the worst of jam in the slot however, and left the game with an injury. The Road Warriors ended the period outshooting the IceMen 10-5.

Nathan Lieuwen came on in relief of Stajcer in the third period. The Road Warriors continued to pile on chances throughout the period, but were unable to extend their lead heading into the final minutes. Evansville got the upper hand towards the end of the game when a Deron Cousens penalty gave the IceMen the man-advantage. Evansville would pull their goalie as well in the closing minutes and were not able to convert. While shorthanded, Brandon Wong scored an empty netter to seal the victory. With the goal, his seventh of the season, Wong kept his point streak alive at five games. Evansville would add a late goal on the powerplay with a goal from Tyler Shelast but it was too late. Lieuwen would stop 9 of 10 shots in the third period. Stajcer would get the win stopping 15 of 16 shots. Madore made 33 saves of 36 shots receiving the loss.
