Reign's Carrozzi Named ECHL Goaltender of the Week

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, is proud to announce that goaltender Chris Carrozzi has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 29 through Nov. 4.

The 22-year-old from Nepean, Ontario earned the award with three wins in three starts with a 4-0 shutout win over Las Vegas Wranglers this past week - the first of the season. Carrozzi posted a 1.67 goals-against average and a save percentage of 0.938 stopping 75 of 80 shots. He went through the week with 122:40 of consecutive shutout time.

This season Carrozzi has appeared in seven games with a 4-3-0-0 record. He currently has a goals-against average of 3.20 and a 0.881 save percentage and has tied the Reign's all-time wins by a goaltender with 21.

Last season with the Reign, Carrozzi posted a career-high 2.27 goals-against average and 0.922 save percentage in 29 games. He recorded three shutouts through the season. Prior to joining the Reign, the goaltender played in one game for the Colorado Eagles. During the 2010-11 season Carrozzi made his professional debut with the Gwinnett Gladiators and played in 47 games. He has also seen time in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves and St. John's IceCaps recording a 4.33 goals-against average and a 0.828 save percentage in three games.

Carrozzi was selected in the sixth round (#154 overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and is currently under contract with the Winnipeg Jets.
