Riversharks Drop Game Three

Camden Riversharks News Release


The Camden Riversharks were defeated by the Newark Bears (4-3). The Bears now lead the series 2-1 going into the final game. Brian Holliday earned the win this evening with Shane Youman being awarded the save. Riversharks Derrell McCall was charged with the loss.

The Riversharks scored the first run of the game this evening. Sean Smith ripped a triple and was then driven in by a Chris Walker single.

The Bears answered back with four runs in the third frame. Paddy Matera led off with a double and Randy Gress followed with a base hit. Tim Raines Jr. was the next batter to the plate and hit an RBI double scoring their first run. After James Cooper was given a free pass to first, Eric Munson hit a three run triple to give Newark a 4-1 lead.

The home team battled their way back scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Smith hit his second triple of the night and was again driven in by Walker. Chris Malec batted next and scored Walker with an RBI double making it only a one run deficit for the Riversharks.

Neither team would score in any of the next four innings which resulted in the loss for the Camden Riversharks.
