
Riversharks Defeated By Patriots

(August 25, 2010- CAMDEN, NJ) The Riversharks were defeated by a score of 2-0 to the Somerset Patriots this evening. Josh Miller of the Somerset Patriots was awarded his eleventh win this season (11-9) while Scott Williamson earned his 5th save. Derrell McCall took his fourth loss with the Riversharks and seventh overall (7-7).
The only two runs scored in the game were by catcher, Jason Belcher. With two outs on the board, Belcher hit a solo home run to right field in the fifth inning. He mirrored this performance in the eighth frame, launching another solo homer to the same location to make the score 2-0.
The Riversharks most promising threat came in the fourth inning. Sean Smith doubled with one out, but the home team failed to advance him.
On the pitching side, Miller went eight strong innings, giving up only three hits, walking none and striking out six. McCall pitched nearly as well only giving up two hits, and walking four through six and a third innings.
