Rivermen Trade Tamblyn, Get McGill from Fayetteville

Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel has announced that forward Corey Tamblyn has been traded to the Fayetteville FireAntz in exchange for gritty center Aaron McGill, who produced 11 points and 51 penalty minutes in 19 games this season with Fayetteville. In addition, Phil Bushbacher was signed to an SPHL contract on Tuesday, while Jeremiah Ketts has agreed to a three-game tryout as of Wednesday.
The roster shifts puts the Rivermen at 16 skaters and two goaltenders, not including Alex Mentink (30-day injured reserve) or Ketts (three-game tryout).
A native of Salem, Oregon, McGill notched a goal, 10 assists and a plus-2 rating in 19 games with Fayetteville this season. Last year, the 24-year-old collected 30 points (12g, 18a) and a whopping 249 penalty minutes during 47 games with the Huntsville Havoc. McGill began his pro career with the now defunct Augusta RiverHawks in 2010-11 and made 73 appearances over two years with the team (16g, 30a, 297 PIM). The 6'1, 200-pound forward also played seven games with the Allen Americans (CHL) in 2011-12.
Tamblyn, 24, initially agreed to a three-game tryout with Peoria on Dec. 6 before he signed a contract on Dec. 21. Over nine games with the Rivermen this season, the Bobcaygeon, Ontario native recorded seven points (3g, 4a), including markers in four straight contests from Dec. 6 - Dec. 21.
Tamblyn began this season with the Allen Americans (CHL) and recorded five points (2g, 3a) in 16 games. Last year, he played 25 games with the Mississippi Surge (SPHL), where he notched six goals and 11 assists for a career-high 17 points. The 5'11, 190-pound forward also spent 25 games in the ECHL last season between the Idaho Steelheads and Trenton Titans, posting four assists.
Bushbacher, 26, began this season with the St. Charles Chill (CHL) and posted seven points (4g, 3a) and a pair of penalty minutes in 20 games. He made his Rivermen debut on Tuesday at Bloomington and registered three shots on goal. A native of Glenview, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, Bushbacher began his pro career in the SPHL playoffs last season and made one appearance for the Louisiana Ice Gators. The 6'2, 210-pound forward also spent two years at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin from 2011-2013 and two years at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois from 2009-2011.
A native of Foristell, Missouri, Ketts was initially signed to a training camp contract with the Rivermen, but dealt with an upper body injury and never made it to Peoria. Instead, he made his Rivermen debut on Wednesday and notched two points (1g, 1a). Last year, the 26-year-old made 30 appearances in the SPHL between the Mississippi Surge, Huntsville Havoc and Pensacola Ice Flyers. He also played in a pair of games for the Tulsa Oilers (CHL).
The 5'10, 185-pound center made his pro debut with the Reading Royals (ECHL) in 2011-12 following a four-year career at Johnson and Wales University in North Miami, Florida.
The Rivermen begin a three-game road trip in Biloxi, Mississippi on Friday with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop against the Mississippi Surge.
