Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel has signed center Locke Jillson to a three-game tryout. The addition brings Peoria's active roster to 16 skaters and two goaltenders, not including Joe Schiller and Alex Mentink who remain on the injured reserve.

Jillson, 25, began his pro career with the Fort Worth Brahmas in the Central Hockey League, where he made his debut on Nov. 11, 2012. Prior to turning pro, the 5'10, 170-pound forward played four seasons at Cornell University from 2008-2012. Over 124 career games, he collected 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Jillson played one season of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2007-08. He spent the first 32 games that season with the Des Moines Buccaneers and an additional 16 contests with the Indiana Ice. Jillson was drafted in the second round, #17 overall in the 2007 USHL Entry Draft by Des Moines.
