
Rivermen Open 2009-10 Season Tonight

PEORIA, Ill. (October 3, 2009) - The Peoria Rivermen will open the 2009-10 regular season tonight as they welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit) at Carver Arena. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The game will mark the beginning of the 28th season of professional hockey in the city of Peoria. It is the fifth season for the Rivermen since joining the American Hockey League prior to the 2005-06 season. A complete roster and schedule can be found online at www.rivermen.net.
All 80 regular season games will air live on Hippie Radio 101.1 with Brendan Burke returning for his second season as the voice of the Rivermen. All games can also be heard online through streaming audio on www.rivermen.net. AHL Live provides live, streaming video for every game on a pay-per-view basis. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive magnet schedules courtesy of Heritage Bank and Comcast is presenting an appearance by Marvel's Spider-man and Iron Man. It is also Rivermen Fun, Family and Safety Night presented by Getz Fire Equipment Co.
