The Quad City Flames rallied from a two-goal deficit to force a shootout in a 3-2 victory over the Peoria Rivermen on Friday night at Carver Arena.

Nikolay Lemtyugov scored his fourth goal of the year to kick off the game at 8:48 of the opening frame, punching the puck home off the stick of a Flames defender and past a surprised Matt Keetley in the Quad City net for a 1-0 Rivermen edge.

Charles Linglet recorded his sixth goal of the year on the power play to make it 2-0 at 10:21 of the second period, taking a saucer pass from Jean-Guy Trudel as he broke in over the Flames blue line and tucked the puck past Keetley on the forehand. Trent Whitfield also drew an assist on the play.

Grant Stevenson started the rally for the Flames at 18:33 of the second period with a power play goal from David Van der Gulik and Tim Ramholt. The Krys Kolanos evened the game with just 18 seconds remaining when his point shot banked in off a Rivermen defender to force the shootout.

Quad City capitalized twice on three shootout attempts while the Rivermen were unable to mark in four attempts. Keetley finished the game with 21 saves for the win while Chris Beckford-Tseu turned aside 38 Quad City shots to help Peoria to the single point.

The same two teams return to the ice tomorrow night at 7 pm as the Rivermen team up with the Salvation Army on Coats for Kids Night, with fans asked to donate a new or gently used coat for needy children this winter. Also, a lucky fan will have a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas courtesy of the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino on Playful Vegas Escape Night!
