Rivermen Game Notes vs Macon

November 28, 2015 - SPHL (SPHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release

BREAK DOWN THE WALL(IN)

Last night's Rivermen win included the first professional goal for RW Terrence Wallin, a game-winner. Wallin notched his first pro point with an assist last Friday against Louisiana, and he has a +1 rating through his first nine professional games.

SEEING DOUBLE

Friday night's win over Macon saw the Rivermen get a goal and an assist from center Adam Stuart, who has seven points in nine games since coming to Peoria in an offseason trade with Louisiana. Of Stuarts seven points, six have come across three two-point games, with a goal and an assist in each of those contests. Stuart's only other point came courtesy of a powerplay goal in last Saturday's game against the IceGators.

THE MASKED MAN

Rivermen goaltender Kyle Rank gave up just one goal last night on 37 shots faced. Rank's 36 saves were one shy of his season high of 37, set November 3 at Mississippi. For the season, Rank leads qualifying goalies in the SPHL with a 2.04 GAA and he sits third with a .926 save percentage among goaltenders with at least 210 minutes played. Rank is 5-0-1 in net since the November 3 regulation loss at Mississippi.

THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH

Last night the Rivermen out-shot the Mayhem 42-37, but the 37 shots allowed were the most since they allowed 39 shots in a 2-1 loss at Mississippi November 3. The 19 shots on goal for Macon in the second period were the second most SOG allowed by the Rivermen in one period this year, trailing only the 21 shots on goal allowed November 3 at Mississippi.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight the Rivermen will take their first road trip in a month when they travel to Knoxville for a Thursday night game with the Ice Bears before heading to Southaven, Mississippi for games Friday and Saturday against the Mississippi RiverKings. Ater that, the Rivermen return home for a pair of games December 11 & 12 against the RiverKings at Carver Arena.
