SHUFFLING THE ROSTER
Peoria enters tonight's contest with several new roster additions since their last game action. Center Garrett Vermeersch was traded to Knoxville in exchange for center Ben Power, currently on loan to ECHL Brampton. Peoria also had defenseman Mike Slowikowski and center Connor Toomey called up to ECHL teams in Wheeling and Cincinnati, respectively. The Rivermen made several player signings during their 11-day stretch between games, including the additions of goaltender David Jacobson, defensemen Dave Pszenyczny and Scott Morongell, and center Don Maloney, Jr.
RED-HOT SUMMERS
Rivermen winger Matt Summers enters tonight's game riding a string of three consecutive multi-point games, with 11 total points in his last seven games and seven points (3g, 4a) in his last three games. Summers has seven goals and seven assists this season in 18 games after he tallied 10 goals and 24 assists in 44 games last season.
THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH
The Rivermen enter tonight's contest leading the league in fewest shots on goal allowed per game at 27.45, while also placing second in the SPHL offensively with 33.05 shots on goal per game. In terms of goals scored Peoria enters play tonight third in the league at 3.05 per game while leading the league with only 2.15 goals allowed per game
WHAT'S AHEAD
After tonight's game the Rivermen will conclude their short homestand with a rematch against Huntsville tomorrow night at Carver Arena. After that series, Peoria will return to the road for three games at Fayetteville (January 8&9) and Macon (January 10), and will follow that with another road weekend January 15&16 at Huntsville before finishing a stretch of road games in Macon January 21 and Columbus January 22 &23. Peoria will return to their home ice for a three-game series with Fayetteville January 29-31.
