Rivermen Game Notes November 7
November 7, 2015 - SPHL (SPHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release
RUNNING DOWN THE ROAD
The Rivermen enter tonight's road trip finale with a 2-1-0 record on the season's first stretch of away games. After tonight's game the Rivermen will play six consecutive games at home.
DOUBLE DIPPING
Friday's game featured Adam Stuart's second straight multi-point game as he scored the game's first goal and assisted on the winner, and Alec Hagaman and Timmy Hall scored two goals apiece. Hall now leads the Rivermen with four goals and five points.
POWERING UP
The Rivermen scored the overtime game-winner Friday night on the powerplay, their second powerplay tally in as many games after they were 0-for-18 in man advantage opportunities during the season's first three games. Friday's game-winner came after Louisiana was called for a penalty in the final moments of the third period, which resulted in the Rivermen taking a 4-on-3 advantage into the extra period.
THE CAPTAIN RETURNS
Rivermen captain Dan Bremner returns to the lineup tonight after serving a three-game suspension imposed by the league for a hit at the 10:55 mark of the second period in Peoria's October 24 game against Pensacola. Before the suspension Bremner had posted a goal and an assist in a game and a half of action.
WHAT'S AHEAD
After tonight the Rivermen return home for six straight games, starting with a lone game next weekend on Saturday night against the defending SPHL President's Cup champion Knoxville Ice Bears. After hosting Knoxville the Rivermen will play host to Louisiana for three straight November 20-22 before finishing their homestand with a pair of games after Thanksgiving November 27 and 28 against the expansion Macon Mayhem.
