Peoria Rivermen News Release
Chief Operating Officer Jason Penning announced today that the Peoria Rivermen have hired Kari Gabbert as a corporate sponsorship executive and community relations coordinator as well as Blake Hochstettler as a ticket account executive. In addition, Matt Brooks, Katie Kerr, Travis Roper and Jim Fox have all been given increased responsibilities heading into the 2010-11 season.
"We really feel that we have made some great strides to make this organization stronger in bringing in additional people to our sales staff on both the corporate and ticket sides," said Penning. "Matt, Katie, Travis and Jim have all done exceptional work for us and are extremely deserving of their new positions on our team."
Gabbert joins the Rivermen after spending the past three years working at her family business, C.T. Gabbert Remodeling & Construction, where she designed kitchens and bathrooms. She is a 2007 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she received a degree in speech communication, with a specialization in organizational communication. A native of Peoria, Gabbert is also an alumna of East Peoria High School and grew up cheering for the Rivermen.
Hochstettler served as an intern during the 2009-10 season and was brought in on a full-time basis following his graduation from Bradley University in May. The 23-year-old native of Treemont, Ill. graduated with a degree in both business management and marketing.
Brooks, who joined the Rivermen staff as an intern in 2008, has been named director of game operations as well as corporate sponsorships executive after serving as a ticket account executive in 2009-10. Kerr and Roper are both entering their fourth season with the club and have new responsibilities as well. Kerr has added merchandise onto her role as director of client services while Roper has moved from a corporate-and-group sales executive to a sponsorship-sales manager position. Fox, who was hired as a ticket executive in Nov. 2009, is now a group sales manager with the club.
Rivermen full-season tickets for the 2010-11 campaign are now on sale at the Rivermen office. Call (309) 676-1040 for more information or to reserve you seats for next year. Visit Rivermen.net for more information.
