
Blues Extend 11 Qualifying Offers

ST. LOUIS (June 23, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has given qualifying offers to four members of the 2009-10 Peoria Rivermen team: Nicholas Drazenovic, Jonas Junland, Ryan Reaves and Tyson Strachan. The Blues have also tendered offers to Jaroslav Halak, TJ Hensick, Cam Janssen, Erik Johnson, DJ King, David Perron and Alex Steen.
Drazenovic, 23, finished last season with 19 goals and 39 points in just 58 games due to injury. All 203 professional games in his career have been played for the Rivermen over the last three seasons. He has collected 114 points over that time and his 67 points are the most by a Rivermen during his tenure. His goals (47) and points are second to only Julian Talbot (61g, 125pts) over that time. Drazenovic was drafted by St. Louis in the sixth round (#171 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Junland, 22, finished ninth among all AHL defenseman in points (44) and fourth in goals (14) during his second season with Peoria. He was selected to participate in his second AHL All-Star Classic in January. The Swedish defenseman appeared in three games for the Blues and collected two assists. Junland was originally taken by the Blues in the third round (#64 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Reaves, 23, appeared in a career-high 76 games for the Rivermen in 2009-10 and has seen action in 164 games for Peoria over the last three seasons. The rugged winger collected a career-high in penalty minutes as well with 167. His 17 fights were tied with Mitch Love for the most by a Rivermen this season. Reaves was selected by the Blues in the fifth round (#156 overall) in 2005.
Strachan, 25, spent 65 games this season with the Rivermen and eight with St. Louis. He collected 26 points (5g, 21a) and 75 penalty minutes in his third season with the club. The 6-foot-3-inch 215-pound defenseman was originally drafted in the fifth round (#137 overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
