Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, Miss – The two-time defending CHL champion Memphis RiverKings shuffled their roster on Thursday in preparation for their upcoming set of games.

The RiverKings will once again have two players on the active roster that were key to their playoff run last season. Defenseman Stephen Margeson and center Kahlil Thomas, who had been on the injured reserve list for the past couple of weeks, were activated after effectively recovering from their injuries.

Thomas, who played the first part of the season with the St. John's Maple Leafs in the American Hockey League, has played in one game with the RiverKings so far this year. Margeson, acquired mid-season last year in a trade, was part of the lineup for seven contests before injury forced him to the sidelines. Through those seven games, Margeson scored one point on an assist.

The RiverKings also announced the signing of veteran defenseman Juraj Durco. Durco, a native of Trencin, Slovakia, played for several years for HK Dukla Trencin in the Slovakian Extraliga. Through 378 career games, he has accrued 61 points (22G, 39A), 152 PIMs, and an aggregate +61 rating.

The RiverKings also placed two players on the inactive list. Center Jerry Gernander, responsible for 4 points (3G, 1A) on the season, was placed on the 45-day Injured Reserve list due to a lower leg injury he sustained last week at Fort Worth. Also, forward Daryl Moor was placed on the bereavement list due to a death in his family. Moor will plan on rejoining the team during their western road swing next week.

The RiverKings will be back in action this evening at 7:05 pm at the DeSoto Civic Center, as they take on the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. The game is the first of three in a row for the RiverKings, who will face off against the Tulsa Oilers on Friday, November 21, before traveling to Bossier-Shreveport for a rematch with the Mudbugs this Saturday.

All 64 RiverKings games can be heard on Easy 680 AM, as well as worldwide via SportsJuice.com. Select RiverKings games will also be available through CHL TV, a league-wide video streaming enterprise.
