Mississippi RiverKings News Release
LAST TIME OUT: It was a tough weekend for the Mississippi RiverKings, who dropped back-to-back decisions for the first time this year, with a 7-4 loss at the hands of the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday and a 4-3 loss against the Columbus Cottonmouths on Saturday, during 'Pink in the Rink' night at the Desoto Civic Center. Recaps of both games can be found here and here . With the two losses, the RiverKings fell to (1-2) on the year but they have played the least amount of games of any team in the SPHL so far this season. 'Pink Heals Memphis' was the focus on Saturday night, and they were able to raise $3,000 through their ticket fundraiser and $7,800 through the postgame jersey auction, with all the proceeds going towards Pink Heals Memphis and Hernando Youth Sports. A big thanks to legendary DeSoto County Auctioneer Sidney Lanier Hurdle, Jr. for his help during the proceedings.
