RiverKings' Three Game Win Streak Stopped in Corpus Christi

Mississippi fell at Corpus Christi Saturday night in their last outing, a 3-2 decision to the IceRays at the American Bank Center. The loss stopped the team's longest win streak of the season at three. All five goals in the contest were power play goals. The RiverKings had a season-high 14 power play chances in the game, and the two teams split 23 man-advantage opportunities. Mississippi goals against the IceRays Saturday night were scored by Louis Dumont in the first period and Matt Pierce in the second period. Tyler Sims (0-2-0) played his second game of the season in goal and made 18 saves. The RiverKings outshot Corpus Christi by a 31-21 margin.

Go To Chaumont for Goals

RiverKings forward Bobby Chaumont was held off the score sheet Saturday at Corpus Christi, but he remains the team's goal scoring leader with nine red-lighters through 15 games. The native of Sudbury, Ontario has scored goals in seven games and has tallied twice in two of them. Chaumont has also been kept of the scoreboard for more than one game only once this season. His longest point streak of the year is a four-game stretch from November 1st to the 12th, where he scored three goals and provided three assists.

Dumont's a Point Producer

Louis is currently on a four-game point streak where he's scored two goals and added a pair of assists. Dumont has also scored all four Mississippi shorthanded goals this year.

Nelson Gets It Done On the Road

Ten of Jeff Nelson's 13 points this season have come in road games, as the veteran has one goal and nine assists in contests away from the DeSoto Civic Center. The one goal scored by the native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan has come on the power play (and was the first goal of the game November 12th at Bossier-Shreveport) and he has assisted on six other road power play goals.

It's Been a Good Month
