RiverKings waive Norris, welcome back Carr
November 18, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI---The Memphis RiverKings waived rookie defenseman Cory Norris today (Wednesday) to get their active roster down to the league mandated 18. With the recent signing of Andy Johnson and the return of Allan Carr from a three-game family bereavement leave, Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Mark Richards had to make a move and Norris was the victim.
Norris was scoreless with 43 penalty minutes in 12 games with the RiverKings this season. Carr, returning from a trip home to be with his ill uncle, scored his fifth goal of season and had an assist in today's 6-4 loss to the Corpus Christi Rayz.
Memphis will try to break their four game losing streak Friday night against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in Hidalgo, Texas.
