San Angelo Saints News Release
San Angelo, TX â The San Angelo Saints of the Central Hockey League are proud to announce that they have raised $9,000 dollars for the Children's Miracle Network in San Angelo during the live auction from their Veteran's Day Snow Camo jerseys. The jersey auction was 1 of 3 fundraisers that the Saints are doing this month to help aid Children's Miracle Network in building a teen lounge in the pediatrics ward of Shannon Hospital. The teen room will be in memory of Justin Tackett, a CMN ambassador for 2004 who was diagnosed with a form of soft tissue cancer in 2002 and passed away this October. The room will be a place for teens to relax with friends, play video games and listen to music while being in the hospital. "This room would have meant a lot to Justin," stated Ray Edwards, Head Coach and Assistant GM of the Saints. "He was always great to be around and I loved working with him. That is why we want to do as much as possible to make sure this room is a success." The Saints will also be having a Bachelor Auction on Monday, November 29th from 6:30 â 9:30 PM at the Convention Center. Tickets for the event are $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
