Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

The Memphis RiverKings earned a come from behind shootout win over the Fort Worth Brahmas on Saturday night, using a shootout goal from forward Alan Carr to defeat the Brahmas 5-4 in CHL action Saturday night at the DeSoto Civic Center.

Fort Worth appeared poised for their first win of the season when left wing Chad Woollard scored his third goal of the game at the 8:13 mark of the third to put the Brahmas on top by a 4-3 score. But, with Brahmas center Lonny Bohonos in the box for a holding penalty, Memphis d-man Ted Crowley scored his second goal of the game to tie the score at 4 with just 2:14 left in regulation.

After a scoreless overtime, the two teams went to a shootout. Carr and Keith Aucoin scored for Memphis in the shootout, while RiverKings goaltender Daniel Boisclair stopped all four Brahmas shots he faced.

The shootout loss spoiled a fine performance by Larry Sterling, Fort Worth's rookie goaltender who was making his professinal debut. Sterling stopped 29 of the 33 Memphis shots he faced in overtime and regulation.

The Brahmas (0-1-1) will now turn their attention to the Tulsa Oilers. Fort Worth will play in Tulsa next Friday night at 7:30 p.m. (hear the game live on KTFW 1460 AM) before returning home to Fort Worth on Saturday, October 30 to host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
