RiverKings sign Robertson, wiave Lovell

SOUTHAVEN---The Memphis RiverKings made a pair of roster moves today as they signed the recently acquired veteran defenseman Peter Robertson to a contract and waived rookie forward Joe Lovell.

Robertson's rights were traded from Topeka to Memphis for the rights to defenseman Jeff Cameron. Robertson is a veteran of 359 professional games, all in the Central Hockey League. The 31 year-old played one season in Macon, four in Oklahoma City and this season in Topeka. In his career, the Rothesay, New Brunswick native has 55 goals and 129 assists. His best season was the 2001-2002 campaign when he scored 16 goals and had 31 assists for the Blazers.

Lovell signed with the RiverKings on December 16 and had gone scoreless in seven games.

Memphis will try to bounce back from their 5-2 home loss to Odessa last night with a one-game road swing to Tulsa tomorrow night at 7:05. The ‘Kings then return for the final DeSoto Civic Center appearance of the season for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Sunday. Face-off for that game is 3:00
