(Tulsa, OK) -- The CHL Northeast Division champion Mississippi RiverKings rebounded from a home loss to Bossier-Shreveport the night previous and held off the Tulsa Oilers by a 6-4 margin Wednesday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa. The win moved the RiverKings season record to 43-16-3 with two regular season games to play, while the Oilers fell to 18-36-8 with the loss, their second in a row.

In the first period, Mississippi took a 2-0 lead on goals from Louis Dumont and Stephen Margeson. Dumont's goal came after an interception of a Tulsa pass by Bobby Chaumont, who fed the puck to Dumont for his 25th red-lighter of the season at 1:19 of the frame.

Margeson scored after being set up on the power play by Garrett Larson and Martin Gascon at 8:13 of the period for a 2-0 first intermission lead.

The second period was a busy one for the red-light switch, as each team scored three times. Dallas Steward, Martin Gascon and Jeff Alcombrack (power play) scored for the RiverKings, while Rob Dmytruk, Bobby Reed, and Brendon Hodge answered for the Oilers, resulting in a 5-3 Mississippi lead after two periods of play. Alcombrack's power play goal in the second period was the eventual game-winner.

In the third period, Tulsa got within a goal at 5-4 on a tally from Kai Magnussen, but the RiverKings responded with another power play goal from Alcombrack, assisted by Derek Landmesser and Gascon at 15:39 for the final goal of the night.

Mississippi scored three times on the power play in 12 chances, while Tulsa was held to only one power play chance, which they failed to score on .

Tyler Sims (8-5-0) took the win in net for the RiverKings with a 17-save effort. Kevin St. Pierre (9-22-6) replaced starting Tulsa goaltender Davis Parley after the fourth RiverKings goal and took the loss, allowing Alcombrack's first power play goal, which became the game-winning score.

Mississippi out shot the Oilers for the contest by a 33-21 margin.

Next up, the RiverKings play at Bossier-Shreveport on Friday night at the CenturyTel Center, the final meeting of twelve regular season games between Mississippi and the Mudbugs.
