Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 18)- Even though the Texas Brahmas did not take the ice last night, they were able to clinch the Southern Conference's number one seed due to an Odessa loss. The number one seed gives the Brahmas home ice advantage throughout the Southern Conference playoffs.
As the top seed, the Brahmas have determined Games 1 and 2 will be Saturday, March 28th at 7:05 PM and Sunday, March 29th at 3:05 PM at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The opponent, additional dates and times are not yet established. Texas will face the winner of the fourth and fifth seeds who will "playoff" in a two out of three game series early next week.
Texas (41-15-5) has three games remaining in the regular season, and with one more victory, will set a franchise record for wins in a season. Should the Brahmas win tonight, they will make history with the 42nd victory. In the 1997-98 season, the Brahmas recorded 41 wins.
Tonight the Brahmas face Southeast divisional foes, the Laredo Bucks, for a 7 PM faceoff. The two teams will be back in action tomorrow night at 7 PM for another battle. The final regular season game for Texas is Saturday when they travel to Rio Grande to face the Killer Bees. All the action starts at 7:35 PM and can be seen on the CHL Network at http://www.nifty-tv.com/chl/.
