SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- DeSoto County has a new non-profit organization and is partnering with the RiverKings this weekend.

The Mississippi RiverKings will highlight the Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center on Sunday, December 8 when they take on the Bloomington Thunder at 3:05 p.m.

Ashley Schachterle, Executive Director and Founder of the Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center, started the organization after a case of child abuse went through what she calls a "broken system."

"We work as a team with DeSoto County Law Enforcement any time a report is made and make sure the proper steps are taken," Schachterle said. "We are very excited to partner with the RiverKings to not only help raise money, but also to let DeSoto County know who we are and what we're all about."

Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center's mission is to respond to child abuse with a supportive team approach that reduces trauma through advocacy, treatment, education, and prevention. For more information on Healing Hearts, visit their website, www.healingheartscac.org.

Tickets are still available for Sunday's game against Bloomington and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or through the Landers Center Box Office.
