Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Mississippi RiverKings of the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League), in preparation for tonight's game versus the Columbus Cottonmouths made two significant roster transactions in the past 48 hours.
Tibor Varga was placed on the 30-day injured reserve list, making room for the acquisition of foward Kevin Fukula's rights in a cash trade from the Augusta RiverHawks. Fukala split time among three different teams last season in three different leagues; he played 23 games for Augusta, scoring two goals and two assists with 136 penalty minutes. The four points as a RiverHawk were the only points he scored last season, as he spent a combined 22 games with Bloomington in the CHL (Central Hockey League) (17) and Florida in the ECHL (5), logging a combined 80 penalty minutes (46 with Bloomington, 34 with Florida).
Varga appeared in all four previous games for the RiverKings, with one goal and 2 penalty minutes. Varga spent last season between three teams as well, including 72 points (27 goals, 45 assists) in 45 games for the Rome Frenzy of the FHL (Federal Hockey League).
