SOUTHAVEN --- The Memphis RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin McClelland announced today that the Central Hockey League team has signed goalie Kevin Schieve (SHEE vee) and has waived goalie Brad Buss. Schieve will be in uniform for the RiverKings' game on Friday versus Colorado at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05.

Schieve is in his second pro season. The Rocky Mountain House, Alberta native was with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL this season before being waived this past Monday. He appeared in three games with the Nailers and went 0-1-0.

Last season, the 6-foot-3, 210 pound Schieve played 22 games to start his pro career with the Pee Dee Cyclones of the SPHL and had a record of 8-8-1. He was called up to the ECHL by Wheeling in early February 2006 and finished the season with the Nailers, playing in five games and going 2-1-0.

Schieve played college hockey at Division III Norwich University in Vermont and was a teammate of RiverKings forward Phil Aucoin for three seasons. He appeared in 75 games over his four years at Norwich, going 41-8-2 and winning a Division III National Championship in 2003.

Buss signed with the RiverKings at the end of November and played in two games, compiling a 1-0-0 record and a 3.69 GAA.

The game this Friday at the DeSoto Civic Center will be the RiverKings' last home game before the All Star break. It pits the top two teams in the CHL and two teams that are streaking. The RiverKings have won their last six, 10 of their last 12 and will be looking to snap the Eagles' CHL record 15-game win streak. Face off is at 7:05 and the first 1,500 fans will receive a Darrell Stoddard Mini Bobblehead sponsored by Cellular South.
