Mississippi RiverKings News Release
(Southaven, MS) --- Here's a quick peek at some upcoming events involving the Mississippi RiverKings in the Mid-South community.
On Sunday, November 22, you'll find both RiverKings' mascots, Sheldon and RiverThing, supporting the Carousel of Hope for St. Jude Patients. They'll be on hand at the Wolfchase Galleria shopping mall, 2760 North Germantown Parkway, Memphis between 6-7 PM.
Monday, November 23rd, RiverKings players Darrell Stoddard and Derek Landmesser will take part in a "Sticks Are for Kids" assembly at the Southaven Intermediate School, 175 Rasco Road West in Southaven. The assembly will be for forty minutes starting at 2 PM. Stoddard and Landmesser will be speaking to about 425 students during the assembly.
Tuesday, December 1st is the date for the RiverKings with a Cause Player Waiter Dinner at Dale's Restaurant, 1226 Main Street, in Southaven. RiverKings' players will serve as you enjoy a night out for a great cause. All tips given the player-servers will go to help the charities supported by the RiverKings with a Cause. Several items will also be raffled off during the evening. Serving times are at 6 and 6:30 PM. Call the RiverKings offices for more information.
Also coming up is the Kings' Court Booster Club Christmas Party at Old Style BBQ in Olive Branch. The entire team will be on hand for the annual event, which begins at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, December 15th.
We'd also like to ask you to start thinking about a big event being planned for the night of December 4th, when the RiverKings take on the Colorado Eagles at 7:05 PM. The evening has been designated as "Teddy Bear Toss" Night, and we'd like to make it even bigger and better than ever. Bring a new, unused teddy bear to the game that night, and when the RiverKings score their first goal, fling your bears on the ice to help celebrate! The bears will be collected and given to the U.S. Marine Corps' "Toys for Tots" program, bringing toys to needy children in the Mid-South area. Let's get together to make this a big event; a magical night for area youngsters less fortunate.
If you would like to have a RiverKings player, staff member, or mascot come support your event or program, please call the team offices at 662-342-1755 for more information.
