RiverKings In The Mid-South Update

(Southaven, MS) --- Here's a quick check of upcoming appearances and community events involving the RiverKings.

Join Sheldon the Turtle this Saturday, October 24th for the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Street Fair at the Agricenter International Grounds on Germantown Parkway (7777 Walnut Grove, #9). The event will help raise funds for the MDA and will run from 10 AM to 4 PM. Watch for Sheldon patrolling the grounds during the Street Fair.

Sheldon will also be making an appearance later in the day between 1-2 PM at "Kickin' It for CASA," at Willow Park (Perkins Road near I-240). The event will help support the Memphis CASA program.

Tuesday, October 27th, two RiverKings players will join Mrs. Morris' third grade class at Southern Baptist Education Center, or SBEC, 7400 Getwell Road in Southaven. The players will be on hand to talk about their time in hockey and the importance of education to them and to the students. Their presentation at SBEC starts at 2:15 PM on Tuesday, October 27th.

A similar message will be brought by RiverKings players the following day, Wednesday, October 28th in Gail Cozart's Kindergarten class at Olive Branch Elementary School, 9459 East Pigeon Roost Road, beginning at 1:15 PM, and also at Mrs. Graham's first grade class at Grahamwood Elementary School from 2-3 PM that same day.

The RiverKings mascots will support the work of the Senatobia Lions Club on Saturday, October 31st between 8-9 AM at their pancake breakfast in the Senatobia Community Center, 104 Southern Street. Another appearance by the RiverKings' mascots will be later that same day at the DeSoto County Walk for the American Heart Association. The walk takes place from 9 AM at Snowden Grove Park, on Getwell Road between Goodman and Church Roads in Southaven.

Don't forget, help will be needed from RiverKings fans on Saturday, November 7th, when the RiverKings do their highway cleanup of U.S. Highway 51, between Church Road and Starlanding Road, between 8:30 AM and 12 Noon. Come on out and spend the morning with the RiverKings front office doing something good for the Mid-South, making sure our highways are safe and clean.
