
Jacks Sign May, Put Van Drunen On IR

(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes made a couple roster moves today signing rookie defenseman, Derek May, to the team and placing defenseman, Dave Van Drunen, on the 14-day IR with an undisclosed injury.
The 25-year-old May, begins his pro career after graduating from Northern Michigan University. In four years at NMU, he appeared in 119 games and registered 10 points (one goal, nine assists). In his junior hockey career the White Rock, British Columbia, native tallied 70 points (15 goals, 55 assists) in 121 games over three seasons.
May will make his first appearance in Odessa's Friday road game at Amarillo. He will wear #14.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
